‘Do Like I Do’ is more than just a song; it’s an invitation to let loose and express yourself. “When we first made the song, the whole concept was for people to be creative in their own way,” says Questo. “We wanted to create something that would not only get people dancing but also inspire them to have fun and express themselves however they see fit.”
Reflecting on the creation of the song, the collaborative duo shares the detailed process; “We started with the production of the beat, which was a collaborative effort between us. We experimented with different sounds, melodies, and rhythms until finding the right vibe for the song.
Once the beats were in place we approached Lady Du, and thereafter conceptualised the song. Inspired by nostalgic old kids’ games, reminiscent of “Do Like I Do”, and developed the concept and direction of “Do Like I Do”. Lady Du brainstormed lyrics and the overall tone to capture the essence of the concept.
Lady Du recorded her vocals for the song with her producer DJ TMan, capturing the energy and emotion intended for the song. Lady Du then worked closely with us to ensure her performance aligned with the vision of the track.
After receiving the recorded vocals from Lady Du, we proceeded to finalise the production of the song. This phase involved integrating the vocal tracks with the existing beats, refining the arrangement, mixing, and mastering to ensure the final product was an amazing collaborative effort.”
Teaming up with the dynamic force of Lady Du, has elevated ‘Do Like I Do’ to new heights. Combining their expertise and musical ingenuity, they created a track that promises to soundtrack a lot of good memories.
